Introduction

The principal objectives in taking a Master’s in Transport Management & Logistics are, on the one hand, to obtain an education that is up-to-date and advanced in the scientific areas of Transport Management and Logistics and, on the other hand, to stimulate research in this scientific area which is critical to future of the Portuguese economy and for the sustainability of the business that operate them.
Portugal will continue to take advantage of the inherent opportunities in the geographic positioning of the country as well as its International relationships built on the privileged Luso-connections. This focus is related to the need to provide the country with top executives capable of identifying opportunities, enhancing strengths and evaluating future ventures for companies and the economy in general.

Objectives

A Master’s in Transport Management & Logistics, in professional terms, ensures the acquisition of competencies such as:
Components and functioning of the distribution chain
Distribution structure and the associated principal processes in this business
The role of Logistics in an Organisation in the context of International competitiveness
Specific characteristics of each mode of transportation
Distribution costs and its impact on business revenues
Business models associated to logistics and their modifications in an age of advanced technology.
