Introduction

ISG’s Post-graduation in Entrepreneurism – how to create and develop your own company – responds to training requirements in a way that both theoretical and practical components –“saber fazer” (“know-how”) - have significant weighting. This Post-graduation in Entrepreneurism – how to create and develop your own company – is designed to respond to training needs in the area of management for all - whether or not they have any basic technological knowledge, or for those who feel uncomfortable, due to a lack of adequate preparation, to set up and/or manage a company. “On the spot management” is an inadequate practice and it is only by using proper management instruments such as a business plan and through knowledge of management processes that managers can combine competencies to establish their company and develop a sustainable business.

Objectives

The principle objective of this Post-graduation in Entrepreneurism – how to create and develop your own company – is to prepare the student to establish a business. The conditions necessary for successful performance depend, among other factors, on consistent training in the areas of business management and, particularly, in the management process itself. In addition, it is important to have the skills to transform an idea or a product, whether technological or not, and create a demand in the market for that product or service. The “Business Project” is an important and determinant component of this Post-graduation in Entrepreneurism – how to create and develop your own company – because it fits in with the vision “saber fazer” (“Know-How”): It is not enough to know theory, which is, of course, fundamental, but its practical application is vital in the field of Entrepreneurism.
