Introduction

As part of the Specialized Training Courses in School Administration and Educational Administration (regulated by Decree-Law No. 95/97 of 23 April), the Post-graduation course in School Management aims to qualify teachers to carry out the functions of top administrators and management of educational & administrative functions in schools and establishments of education.

Objectives

This course has been designed in accordance with legal requirements and, as already established, aims to develop:

• Competencies in critical analysis of schools and the organisation of schools

• Skills of intervention in the area of Leadership, promotion within the educational community and the use of methods and techniques of planning and management.

Access

Candidates who can apply for the post-graduation course in Specialisation in School Management are educators and professors who are career professionals of Public Educational Institutions and who, on the date of admission into the course have, at least, five years of service as a teacher and would like to qualify to carry out the functions of top administrators and management of educational & administrative functions in schools and establishments of education.

Professors of private educational Institutions and cooperatives are also eligible to apply for the course provided they satisfy the necessary requirements to carry out the functions of top administrators.
