Course Presentation
As the world becomes increasingly complex and marked with uncertainty, the evolution of macroeconomics has assumed an increasingly important role which make it vital for companies to have qualified personnel to comprehend and anticipate the economic reality and thus optimise the decision-making process at company level. Comprehension of the importance of Business Cycles, Monetary and Budgetary Policies, the behaviour of prices and salaries is critical to enable a company to be competitive in a globalised world. On the other hand, knowledge of microeconomics, namely the behaviour of consumer markets and productive factors, especially in the labour market, are indispensable concepts for efficient management in any company. Finally, in the context of increasing economic and financial integration at a global level, an economist’s role is becoming crucially important in the decision-making process of organisations.
