Student Ombudsman

The mission of ISG's student Ombudsman is to contribute towards the smooth integration of students into the institute and to ensure their success in their academic work by resolving problems that pose difficulties  in acheiving set objectives.      
     
The Student  Ombudsman has total independence in the execution of his functions.

The students of ISG should present their complaints to the Student Ombudsman on  matters like: any actions taken or omission to take action by the Institute, its Departments or staff members and exposure of situations in need of improvement. In case the Student Ombudsman  does not have the power to take a decision in a particular situation, he will refer the case to the appropriate authorities with the necessary recommendations to resolve the situation and prevent its repetition.

A participant is acknowledged and assured, except in a case of slander, that communication of any kind of irregularity to the Student Ombudsman will never constitute a basis for disciplinary action against the person nor will it be the cause of any kind of treatment of disfavour or discrimination.

The Board of Directors and the Dean of ISG, under the Directive of Internal Services - DIS.Nº02/2010 de 25-01-2010, and in the executions of their functions empowered under article no. 66 and 67 of the new statues of ISG, nominated Professor Dr. José Magalhães to the position of Student Ombudsman.
