Mobility of Teachers

The Life-long Learning Programme/Erasmus gives financial support to teaching staff to realise Teaching Missions (TM) or Training Abroad for the duration of one week (a minimum of 5 hours) to encourage the mobility of teachers between European Institutions of Higher Studies.

Objectives

·         To provide an opportunity for teaching staff to actualise personal and professional ambitions

·         To encourage colleges to expand and enrich the range and content of the courses they offer

·         To reinforce ties between Institutions of different countries

·         To promote inter-exchange of knowledge and experience in Pedagogic methods

Teaching Missions-TM

Eligibility Criterion

Grants for mobility are strictly based on the following criterion:

·         Only to a teacher of ISG
To Nationals of a Member State of the European Union or another country that is a participant in the Life-long Learning Programme (LLP)

·         On approval from the Board of Directors

To enable teachers to realise teaching missions in a foreign country under the aegis of the Erasmus Mobility Programme, ISG has signed a bilateral agreement with the foreign partner Institution and, therefore, awards Erasmus grants only to its own teachers.

Application

Teachers of ISG who are interested in participating in the Erasmus Mobility Programme should contact GRIE (Department of International Relations) with the following documents:

·         Completed Application Form for Teaching Missions

·         Photocopy of Identity card

·         Photocopy of Tax-payer Card

Ranking

Ranking of teachers who have shown an interest in taking part in a Teaching Mission or Training in a foreign is the sole responsibility of the Dean of ISG and successful candidates will be informed directly by GRIE.

Process of Mobility

After being selected, the teacher should contact the International Department (GRIE) for information on further steps of the Mobility process.

Host Institution

The selected teachers should chose a suitable Institution from among the Erasmus Partner Institutions, with whom ISG has a bilateral agreement, with the approval of the Dean of ISG, and then define a programme of activities – Teaching Programme (Minimum Requirements for the Teaching Mission Programme)

Receipt & Report

Once the grant has been awarded, a receipt of the payment of the grant as well as a teaching contract, in duplicate (one copy for the teacher and the other for ISG), will be issued and duly signed by both parties in the contract.

At the end of the assignment, the teacher will have to bring back the certificate confirming completion of the Teaching Mission. Furthermore, teachers are also obliged to complete the Individual Final Report and hand it in to GRIE within a month from the date of return.

Grants

The Erasmus grants are intended to cover additional costs of mobility such as expenses due to the high cost of living in the host country, which encapsulates travel and subsistence (boarding and lodging) expenses. Mobility grants are not intended to cover total expenses incurred while on a teaching assignment abroad.

Required Documents

·         Minimum Requirements for the Teaching Mission Programme

·         Receipt of the Payment of the Grant

·         Declaration from the Host Institution confirming the duration of the assignment abroad

·         Individual Final Report
